CPS SENIOR RUGBY DELAYED START TO 23 APRIL

  • Post category:Latest News
Due to ongoing impacts of Covid on player, management and official availability, the Council of Clubs has agreed to postpone the start of all Senior Club Rugby Competitions until 23rd April.

Covid is running rife through our clubs and wider-community, which has meant most teams have struggled to train the past couple of weeks and likely to impact the ability for games to go ahead at the original start dates.

We’ve been working with all senior clubs to understand the options available to us and it was agreed a delay to 23rd April would give us the best chance of having a season uninterrupted by Covid.

The impact of this decision mean the two crossover games with Eastern BOP for our Premier teams will be sacrificed to give us the room to delay. We haven’t given up playing a round with our EBOP cousins so watch this space.

The muster for our wahine has also been rescheduled to Friday 22nd April. More info to come closer to the date.

More work is required over the next week to revise the draw and confirm rules and regulations.

Stay safe out there whanau.
