Played at Alexandra Park, the result was never in doubt after the first 20 minutes.
Nevertheless the visitors scored first, Kaipara taking a mark five minutes after the start, from which Tate kicked a goal.
Ten minutes later McGregor scored to make it 3-3. By halftime it was 11-3, and thereafter it was all Auckland.
McGregor (2), Macky and Wylie tries, O’Leary three conversions and three penalties, compiling Auckland’s total.
Auckland:
Four changes were made, J. D. Stewart, T. Clifton Webb, J. H. Hall and W. Cunningham* replacing Murray, Olsen, Nesbitt and Wilson.
Poverty Bay:

Ryland and Rukingi had been members of the New Zealand Maori team which had toured Australia in June 1913, as had also F. L. Tresize (Auckland).
